The London take.

Quick snapshots from the Somerset House set of London Fashion Week from this weekend! I worked with fashion babylon, a rising online-based fashion magazine to promote at LFW. We were surrounded by almost 'alien-tall' models and fashionitas sprinting in their six inch heels in and out of shows; of-course this did give us a chance to shoot photographs of people who's style stood out to us. Although Sunday was understandably more quiet, Saturday saw hosts of stylish people within the fashion industry being circled by swarms of flashs from photographers and mic's from those who were filming the coverage at Somerset House. We also, very fortunately, got photographed for our outfits, to be uploaded onto trendspotter sites and publishers, even though we were all sporting tops with the company logo on! Being a sixteen year old student, and this being my first countable fashion experience, you can understand just how excited all the glitz and glamour made me. The job involved promoting for a fashion show which fashion babylon are hosting this week, and it meant that I was able to do some exclusive networking with fashion contacts. Despite the pain of standing in platforms in the cold, it was an excellent experience, which was made all the more fun by having friends there to join me on the Sunday. The weekend opened up various opportunities and I will be back in London at the end of the week for the rest of London Fashion Week and London Fashion Weekend, hopefully i'll coincidentally bump into a few bloggers there?
From the collections that have been on the catwalks this week, highlights for me so far are Erdem, Mulberry, Julien Macdonald and David Koma (the collection stood out to me the most for the abstract take on animal prints). These collections are definately worth taking a look at, you'll automatically be in awe of how beautiful the collections are. Although I hate to declare this, as it stands the New York Fashion Week collections to me, are at a much higher standard then the London garment lines, however, it's only the fourth day of LFW so i'm certain that i'll be contradicted soon enough!
Being back at school with AS levels, I am piled with work to do and I apologise that it'll be the main reason for my recent rushed posts. Do expect a full-on coverage of my favourite collections from NYFW, as it'd be a crime not to share how beautiful most of the garments were! I hope everyone had a brilliant weekend, if you were at London fashion week or are going to be at London fashion weekend I'd love to know and hear about how you found the events.

Til' next time,

Habin xo.

[Thank-you to Ellie Raynham who also took photographs, and for lending us her camera!]
