From my experience, the only thing that can settle my annual restlessness for the summer to begin is a new summer wardrobe. Exhibit A- Topshop scallop fringe shorts- One part of what will inevitably be an excessively large summer closet. For £34 these shorts were the perfect fix for my ever-expanding obsession for chiffon and scallop trims! In the designated summer piles, the shorts are grouped with numerous injections of canary yellows, light denims and abstract floral prints.

Although I admit that I have strayed away from bright colours in the past, for this summer, I expect them to be a staple requirement to my outfits. Currently, I am lusting after a pastel orange nail polish and a bright orange/vermilion lipstick- which to my disappointment MAC no longer has in stock!

I thought it only suitable in the above photographs to use my current read as a prop- Mrs Dalloway by Virginia Woolf (which I hope some may have recognised my title's quote from).

After a long struggle to find the perfect working 120mm film camera, I present to you the newest addition to my camera collection....

The Kodak Brownie Reflex! (£4!)

I am yet to order the suitable film for the camera, however, I will definitely post the results of finished rolls. The camera carries the same and familiar odour of my vintage binoculars and tea-set- a definite indication of it's history and decadence!

I apologise for the short post, I have constantly been on my feet- either at school or at home doing more work! Also, recently I have been photographing small-scale events, the product garments of my fashion students friends and even some bridal photography- with this all keeping me busy, I have found it difficult to fit in blog posts. I have not posted as planned about my night at London Fashion Weekend- however, a full featured post about our visit can be seen at Vintage Stop! I hope everyone had a good weekend!

LFW II- Street style shots from Somerset House.

After carrying out the momentous chore of sifting through pages and pages of photographs from LFW, I am chuffed to announce that i've finally narrowed down my favourite street style shots from Somerset House. With the inevitable British weather, much like every LFW (whether it be the SS or AW season) street style features always seem to show the dominant influence which the forecast has on people's outfits -evident from the continuous encounter of fur and layers in the photographs to follow. I went to Somerset House with the intention to capture the essence and atmospheric buzz of LFW, and most importantly the street style- which unsurprisingly bought a mix of high street, thrifted and designer garments. Those who were wearing bold prints, maxi skirts and big textures caught my eye, epitomising solutions for the 'how to wear runway for everyday' dilemma.

A 1920's Affair.

Friday night saw floor length maxis, show girl feathers and lots and lots of glitzy sparkle- it was my friend Becci's 17th birthday and we celebrated 1920's style. I've recently developed a growing fascination towards what's otherwise known as The Jazz Age or The Flapper period, after studying the era in English, so the theme definately got me excited! It was interesting to see what everyone's conception of the 1920's was, in terms of style and dresses. The night consisted of, what seemed like never-ending platters of food (not that I was complaining!), Mary Pickford cocktails, Chinese lanterns, unharmonious chorusing to Queen and a perfectly delicious cupcake pyramid- complete with sparkler candles. Birthday wishes to Becci!

I wore a TOPSHOP dress £30 (on sale!), TOPSHOP platform sandals £68 (as seen in my previous post) and YSL rouge volupte lipstick. All photographs were taken on my PENTAX ZOOM60X- unedited film.
