I must admit that Wildfox couture clothing doesn't usually impress me much, and has never been to my taste. The same definately can't be said about their lookbook editorials, which have provided me with more inspiration than those from the best couture houses, such as D&G or Burberry. The 2010 Wildfox lookbook was memorable and I constantly revert back to take references from the photographs for inspiration. I adore wildfox editorials because they illustrate a story in a fun, light-hearted way- always in a beautiful setting.

After what seemed like an agonising wait (okay, so slight exaggeration), the 2011 Spring Wildfox lookbook is out! The lookbook is based on the glutinous and indulgent era in 1770 France, and it revolves around the frivolous and luxurious reign of Marie Antoinette. The editorial is fun and contemporary, and it collides the life of Marie Antoinette with Wildfox's label, which, evident from the lookbook, has resulted in dramatic, youthful and awe-inspiring photographs. I can assure that you'll enjoy looking through the photographs as much as I did!

The hair and make-up in these photographs is absolutely perfect, after repetitive hair-do's and eye art down the runway last season, this is just what I needed to see! The cobalt hue in the lookbook makes the photographs look dreamy and give them an iridescent feel, reflecting a possible flashback scene. More can be seen on the Wildfox blog!

Russian Ballet editorial

How stunning are these photographs? From the May issue of Vogue Russia, the editorial is fabulous. Models Iris Strubegger and Heidi Mount go couture whilst posing for photographer Paolo Roversi, and they look absolutely beautiful. The editorial is concentrated upon portraying classic Russian ballets with a contemporary twist. Everything about the editorial is very eloquent and majestic and the different sketches are so imaginative. If this editorial doesn't give you inspiration, then I don't know what will.

Paolo Roversi has shot some of the most beautiful people (from Natalia Vodianova to the models on ANTM), accomplishing to make them look even more graceful- something I used to think wasn't possible. Roversi's photographs look classical and effortless. His photographs will bring out the green monsters of us all, just have a look:

I would love to know who your favourite photographer is. Did everyone (in the UK, that is) watch frock me on T4? I personally enjoyed it very much, what did you think? Sorry for the short post, must get on to some revising ): I realise this post is very image dominated, do people prefer this? 
Also, I know I promised in my previous post that I'd be showing you photos from the photoshoot I did with Becci Price in this post. Unfortunately, I haven't had time to start sorting through them, so I promise to add them into my next post. Wildfox's fall 2010 look book, the aesthetics in this editorial are wildy pleasing. Nicole Fox looks ridiculously beautiful. What is it that goes through our minds when defining whether someone is beautiful or not? After all it can't just be there look, as more than often a person's characteristics and personality play into the equation. It seems that people have become obsessed with 'beauty' and aesthetics, and it has always been that way; its just less obvious nowadays, as its become more or less a routine. Within every industry, whether it's advertising, fashion or cooking, the final product doesn't pass unless it is (how they put) 'aesthetically pleasing'. Is it these aesthetics which drive so many people to pursue a career in one of these industries? - My bed is unmade and half of the duvet is on my carpet, to some this frame is art whereas to other's its just a sloppy mess. People's opinions vary yes, but what confuses me is that we seem to have some aspects in our lives which have already been defined, as beautiful or ugly, which have been programmed into our brains. Who was it that determined that being fat is ugly or that sandals with socks were a big fashion faux pas?

untitled (too cliche?)

Got my gcse exam timetable yesterday, as much as it makes me feel organised and secure, i am properly stressing out at the reality that these are my REAL exams. No more shrugging bad results off and saying that ill improve next year... and to make it worse i have two physics exams on my birthday- couldnt be happier. I really shouldnt be blogging but I found a huge collection of photographs of many things, from photoshoots to snapshots from the best film in the world- the notebook. Where would I be without that film and Titanic? Enjoy the photos.

My Spanish orals are on Monday and the topics include questions like what I want to be when im older etc. Not that I have the slightest clue of what to answer to that, I keep wondering about why I seem to be the only one in my English class who doesn’t really have a concentrated ambition. But one of the questions will get me rambling on with excitement, ‘what will you be doing this summer?’, I for one will hopefully be having the time of my life. Can’t wait for the summer, its so so far away. Im certain that you fellow bloggers will also have big plans for the summer, care to share?
